About Bremen and Bremen Hotels
Bremen city
A tour through Bremen would generally start on the market place with its beautiful town hall and the statue of “Roland mit den spitzen Knien” (Roland with the pointy knees). Bremen’s town hall cellar with its characteristic little booths is known for the excellent wines produced in its own wine cellar. Not far from there stand the renowned statue of “Bremer Stadtmusikanten” and Bremen’s St. Petri cathedral. The picturesque Böttcherstrasse is marked with tall gables, and the oldest residential district Schnoor is also worth a visit. This surviving old city quarter is surrounded by a “Wall” upon which, in the middle of the city, an old windmill stands. The Bremen art museum bears artworks from famous local painters and the Überseemusem (Overseas Museum) located close to the main train station may not be missed. In autumn of each year, the annual fair “Bremer Freimarkt” invites guests to linger about and in the evenings the “Schlachte”, a district of pubs and bars along the river Weser, allows a good day to come to an end.
